Save the Earth
Saving Our Earth - Together
Our Mission:
Our mission is to educate, inspire, and empower children to protect Earth's environment.
At CHIJ (Katong) Primary, we believe that every one of us has a responsibility to care for the planet we call home. Our mission is simple but powerful: to educate, inspire, and empower our students to protect Earth's environment — one small action at a time.
Through our programmes, students discover the importance of recycling, managing food waste, and separating rubbish the right way. But learning doesn't stop at the school gate. We encourage our students to bring these habits home, making sustainability a way of life for their families and communities too.
We want every child at CHIJ Katong Primary to feel proud to be part of a school that truly cares — about the environment, about the future, and about the world they will grow up in. Because when young people understand the impact of their choices, they become the changemakers our planet needs.

Using natural sunlight as an alternative to lights and usage of fans
Save The Earth Committee conducted an assembly talk, reminding both teachers and students to switch off some lights on brighter days and switch off some fans on cooler days. Teachers conducting lessons conducted in the afternoon are encouraged to use natural light in their classrooms instead of switching on lights.
