Prefects' Investiture & Installation of Monitors 2018

The Prefects’ Investiture and the Installation of Monitors Ceremony was held in the school hall on 21st February 2018. It was a solemn ceremony where recognition was given to all the student leaders in the school.  The ceremony started with the investiture of the newly-appointed prefects from Primary 4 - 6 and then went on to recognizing the prefects who have served the school.  The Prefects Exco for 2018 comprises of Tan Yue Wen Eunice (Head Prefect), Ong Yuan Jing and Shannen Lim En-Qi (Vice-Head Prefects) and Chin Yu Yan Kaydence Adele and Nikita Mae Jing-Yu Meyers (Assistant-Head Prefects). Eunice led the prefects in the Prefect’s pledge.

The Investiture ended with a meaningful ceremony of passing on the light from the school leaders to the rest of the prefects.  This light acts as a symbol to remind the prefects that the IJ spirit is always burning brightly.  It reminds the prefects to be the light to the other pupils in the school, be united in love, and be service to others and to keep the IJ spirit radiant and glowing in their daily tasks. Recognition was also given to all the monitors and ambassadors.

I am honoured and grateful to be chosen as the Head Prefect.  Given this huge responsibility, I must constantly uphold the name of our school and be an exemplary role model.  Together with the EXCO team, we will work with our fellow prefects, to make our school a happy and enjoyable place for all.
Tan Yue Wen Eunice, Head Prefect 2018

The Prefects’ Investiture was a simple but meaningful ceremony.  It reminded me of the honour and responsibility given to me in serving the school as a Vice-Head Prefect.  I hope to do my best to strengthen out school spirit by following the school virtues.  I also look forward to working together with all the prefect in the prefectorial board.
Shannen Lim En-Qi, Vice-Head Prefect 2018

Taking on the role of the Vice-Head Prefect will always be an honour and privilege for me.  It also serves as a constant reminder that I should strive to do my best in everything I do.  I hope to be an exemplary role model to my fellow peers so we can all live up to our school motto, ‘Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty’.
