At CHIJ (Katong) Primary, Physical Education is more than movement — it is character in action. We believe that when a girl moves with confidence, she grows with confidence — in body, in mind, and in character.
Our PE programme develops physically competent, health-literate individuals who are equipped to lead active, responsible, and fulfilling lives. Grounded in the MOE PE Syllabus, learning is organised across three interconnected areas:
Physical Activity — Athletics, Dance, Games & Sports, Gymnastics, and Swimming
Outdoor Education — Outdoor Living, Sense of Place, and Risk Assessment & Management
Physical Health & Safety — Physical Fitness, Nutrition, Safety & Risk Management, and Personal Hygiene & Self-Care
Every girl at CHIJ (Katong) Primary embarks on a rich progression of experiences across her six years with us:
Primary 1 & 2: Lower Primary Games — joyful, play-based movement for every child
Primary 3 – 6: Annual Sports Carnival — inter-house competition, teamwork, and school pride
Primary 5: 3-Day 2-Night Outdoor Adventure Learning Cohort Camp
All levels: National Day Workout & Level Sports Activities
From cheering on their houses at the Sports Carnival to conquering ziplines and rock walls at the Outdoor Adventure Camp, our girls learn to push past their limits, support one another, and embrace challenge with resilience and a growth mindset — values that extend far beyond the PE lesson.
Games Day & Sports Carnival
Our annual Sports Carnival brought together Primary 3 to Primary 6 girls and their families for a morning bursting with energy, laughter, and heart. On Children's Day, we also celebrated our P1 and P2 girls with a Lower Primary Games Day — a joyful close to a wonderful year of learning!
3-Day 2-Night Cohort Camp
Our Primary 5 girls spent three unforgettable days at the MOE Changi Coast Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre — abseiling, ziplining, climbing rock walls, and performing at the campfire under the stars. More than the thrills, it was the quiet moments — encouraging a friend on the tower circuit, laughing over meals together, sleeping bags, etc. that made this camp truly special. They came back braver, closer, and ready to take on the year ahead.
