Cyber Wellness LJ to Google Online Safety Park 2019

On 26 April 2019, the Cyber Wellness team and the P4 & P5 CCE ambassadors were invited to visit the Google Singapore Office. Our team and students were among the first to experience the Google Online Safety Park. Everyone had a wonderful and fulfilling time at Google.

The interactive experience at Google features four stations, each simulating a daily online experience centred on one of  the concerns raised in the survey:

  • Privacy and security
  • Sharing information with care
  • Inappropriate content
  • Preventing cyber bullying

At the Google Online Safety Park, students were challenged to literally “build” strong passwords using toy building blocks  in “The Bedroom”, where blocks of different sizes had a letter of the alphabet, number or symbol attached.

Emily Seow from BU5 and Stephanie Dowideit from EM5 were also interviewed by Today’s Online to share about their experience at the event. In addition, Ler Hayley from BU5 was interviewed by Channel 8 News to talk about her takeaway from this experience in Mandarin. Ms Jasmine Tan also shared on the weekly program Click IT about the Cyber Wellness programs our school has in store for the students.
