Citizenship Education

The school aims to develop students cross cultural skills, global awareness and civic literacy through the National Education (NE) programmes.

• NATIONAL EDUCATION
  

The NE commemorative days, such as Total Defence Day, International Friendship Day, Racial Harmony Day and National Day, aim to cultivate appreciation of cultural diversity and to develop students as concerned citizens who stay rooted to Singapore. 

• SOCIAL STUDIES FIELD-BASED LEARNING
  

Social Studies learning journeys serve to instill in students a sense of belonging and commitment to the school, community and the country though experiential learning. 

• CHIJ (KATONG) HERITAGE CENTRE
  

This centre consists of four Heritage Corners namely, Our Heritage Street, Our Heritage Kampong, Our Heritage Classroom and Our Heritage @CHIJ (Katong). The Heritage Corners will allow students to contextualise their learning experiences in an authentic real world setting and to deepen their understanding as they discover more about Singapore and their community.
